Council - Tom Wheeler
Tom Wheeler –President
Tom Wheeler first became the President of Y/S RC&D in September of 2008. Since then, he has become a critical component of the organization. As President, Tom facilitates and supports new ideas, strengthens partnerships, conducts business in an orderly fashion and organizes meetings, all which help to pave the way to success. Tom moved to the North Fork area as a teenager in 1958 and has been a resident of Eastern Madera County ever since.
Tom’s background includes managing private businesses, coaching youth soccer, managing ranches and of course his annual participation in the Loggers Jamboree. Tom has served on approximately 50 boards, committees, and subcommittees. Additionally, Tom was elected to the Madera County Board of Supervisors in 2006 and was recently reelected for his second term. As a County Supervisor, he strives to promote conservation, property rights and common sense solutions to the County’s problems.
Tom’s experience and leadership abilities allow him to successfully fill this critical role in the Yosemite/Sequoia Resource Conservation & Development Council. We look forward to his presidency for years to come!
